Please join me at the University Women's Club, 2 Audley Square, Mayfair, London, for an exhibition of 55 watercolours of Venice by Carole Robb. The exhibition will accompany her painting The White Gondola which was acquired by the UWC in 2018, and is permanently displayed there.
Carole Robb is a British artist and member of the National Academy of design in New York. She lives between New York City, London, Rome and Venice. Robb was born in Scotland and studied painting at the Glasgow School of Art and at Reading University (MFA 1979) under Terry Frost. That same year Robb received a British Arts Council award from the Greater London Association and won the British Prix de Rome for painting from the Royal Commission and spent the year in Rome. Following this she went to New York City on a Fulbright Artist Fellowship.
Her work is in many museum collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Imperial War Museum, London, The National Academy Museum, NY, the US-UK Fulbright Commission, London, the British School at Rome and the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, London.
I am very grateful to the University Women's Club for allowing this one day exhibition to take place.. The watercolours will remain in situ until the 14th June for members to enjoy. The works
are on show during the London Gallery Weekend, 2025.
